At BioMed X, we combine the best of two worlds - academia and industry - and enable breakthrough innovation by making biomedical research more efficient, more agile, and more fun.
About Team ADB (AI-Empowered Platform for Sterically Guided Design of Bispecific Antibodies)
Team ADB is a newly established research team within BioMed X’s XSeed Labs program. The team will develop AI-enabled platform for the rational design of bispecific antibodies, addressing key limitations such as steric hindrance, epitope accessibility, spatial dynamics, and physiological constraints that currently limit the systematic development of immune cell engagers (ICEs) and dual-targeting antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs).
In close collaboration with Servier, the team operates at the interface of academia and industry, translating advances in antibody engineering, structural biology, and machine learning into geometry-aware design strategies with high translational relevance. The team will be based on Servier’s R&D campus in Paris-Saclay, near Paris, France, enabling close, day-to-day interaction with industry scientists.
The Position
We're looking for a postdoctoral researcher to build and lead the wet-lab characterization arm of our AI-guided bispecific antibody discovery program.
You'll be part of a team combining computational structural biology, machine learning, and antibody engineering to design next generation bispecifics.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and run the lab's core characterisation pipeline with our biological engineer: protein expression and purification, thermostability assays, and standard PPI binding assays.
- Design experiments and assays to test hypotheses generated by the team, and help pinpoint why designs succeed or fail.
- Own wet-lab data integrity, traceability, and the consolidation of experimental and computational datasets.
- Manage CRO relationships where external capacity is needed (e.g., protein production, specialised assays).
- Work closely with computational scientists to close the design-test-learn loop.
Required skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- A PhD in Structural Biology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on expertise in protein expression/purification, thermostability assay, characterisation of protein and antibody-antigen complex (BLI/SPR, BRET/FRET, Xray/cryoEM).
- Track record of independent project management, able to own a workstream end to end.
- Publication record demonstrating research rigor and output.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent English.
Additional skills, good to have
- Experience across multiple expression systems (yeast, bacterial, mammalian).
- Familiarity with complementary analytical/QC techniques.
- FACS or MACS-based binding or functional assays.
- Familiarity with computational protein design.
What we offer
- A fully funded research position immediately available within a high-profile BioMed X XSeed Labs project in collaboration with Servier.
- Open-ended contract (CDI) under French labour law.
- A strong mentoring and training environment, with close interaction with senior scientists in AI/ML, structural biology, and antibody research.
- Direct exposure to AI-enabled antibody discovery workflows at the academia–industry interface.
- Opportunities to contribute to scientific publications and conference presentations, aligned with project objectives and confidentiality requirements.
- An international, diverse, and collaborative work environment based on Servier’s R&D campus in Paris-Saclay.
- A role that provides excellent preparation for doctoral studies or computational careers in biomedical research.
Please submit your application with the following documents to the attention of Dr. Lucas Krauss by October 3rd, 2026, via our online application system https://career.bmedx.com/job/2026-PAR-J05
- 1-page cover letter.
- Curriculum Vitae outlining scientific interests, research achievements, and a record of publications.
- 2 references will be asked for after submission as a part of the interview process.
