About Team ADB

Team ADB is a newly established research team within BioMed X’s XSeed Labs program. The team will develop a predictive, AI-enabled platform for the rational design of bispecific antibodies, addressing key limitations such as steric hindrance, epitope accessibility, spatial dynamics, and physiological constraints that currently limit the systematic development of immune cell engagers (ICEs) and dual-targeting antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs). In close collaboration with Servier, the team operates at the interface of academia and industry, translating advances in antibody engineering, structural biology, and machine learning into geometry-aware design strategies with high translational relevance. The team will be based on Servier’s R&D campus in Paris-Saclay, near Paris, France, enabling close, day-to-day interaction with industry scientists.

The Position

We are recruiting a Research Assistant in Immunology to support the functional evaluation and data-driven optimization of immuno-oncology–focused mono- and bispecific antibodies. The role is suited for early-career scientists interested in understanding how antibody geometry, epitope selection, and molecular format influence immune cell activation, tumor cell killing, and therapeutic activity. The Research Assistant will contribute to linking quantitative functional immunological readouts with structure- and AI-guided design efforts, supporting the prioritization of antibody constructs. Working at the interface of immunology, antibody engineering, protein structure, and computational design, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with AI/ML scientists, structural biologists, and industry partners to generate high-quality experimental data for validation and iterative refinement of next-generation bispecific antibodies. This position supports the development of a predictive, function-aware discovery framework for immuno-oncology antibodies and provides strong exposure to interdisciplinary, industry-embedded research environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An M.Sc. (or equivalent experience) in Computational Immunology, Molecular Biology, Antibody Design, or Protein Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A strong interest in antibody-based immuno-oncology, including bispecific antibody formats and immune cell engagers.
  • Motivation to work at the interface of experimental biology and computationally informed discovery.
  • A curious, rigorous, and team-oriented mindset, with enthusiasm for learning and scientific growth.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the functional evaluation and comparison of mono- and bispecific antibody candidates.
  • Assist in contextualizing and applying computational predictions alongside immunological constraints during candidate assessment.
  • Perform and analyze functional validation experiments related to immune activation and tumor targeting.
  • Contribute structured experimental feedback to iterative design–validation cycles in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and industry partners to ensure biological relevance, data quality, and experimental rigor.

Required Skills

  • Practical experience with cell-based immunological assays relevant to immune cell engagement (e.g. T-cell activation, cytotoxicity, reporter assays, or internalization assays).
  • Hands-on experience working with recombinant antibody or protein reagents, including handling, dilution, and basic functional characterization of mono- or bispecific antibody formats.
  • Ability to perform, document, and interpret quantitative functional readouts (e.g. flow cytometry–based, luminescence/fluorescence, or ELISA-based assays).
  • Experience in experimental data processing and basic quantitative analysis, including normalization, comparison across conditions, and visualization of results.
  • Familiarity with interpreting functional assay outcomes in the context of immune activation, target engagement, and antibody format–dependent effects.
  • Ability to work with structured experimental datasets and interpret results in the context of computational or model-generated design hypotheses.
  • Proficiency in clear data documentation and reporting, including maintaining accurate laboratory records and communicating results within an interdisciplinary research team.

Additional skills (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to computational, structural, or AI-assisted antibody design workflows, with interest in understanding how experimental data informs model refinement.
  • Familiarity with developability and translational considerations in biologics discovery (e.g. stability, expression behavior, aggregation, or manufacturability).
  • Basic understanding of molecular modeling concepts or molecular dynamics (MD), particularly as they relate to antibody structure–function relationships.

What We Offer

  • The position is fully funded through a strategic industry partnership with Servier, offering a well-resourced research position starting March 1, 2026 (negotiable).
  • The position is offered as a fixed-term contract (CDD) in accordance with French labour law, initially limited for 3 years, with the possibility of an additional 2-year extension.
  • Access to a high-level scientific and innovation ecosystem, including close interaction with Servier and international collaborators.
  • Strong encouragement and support to publish and present at major conferences, aligned with project objectives and confidentiality requirements.
  • International, diverse, and positive work atmosphere that fosters personal and professional growth.
  • The role offers strong exposure to industry-relevant research and supports career development toward senior scientist, staff scientist, or PI-track positions.

Application Process

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. For full consideration, please apply by 15 February 2026. Please submit your application via our online application system: https://career.bmedx.com/job/2026-PAR-J04

Your application should include:

  • A one-page cover letter describing your motivation and suitability for the position.
  • A curriculum vitae outlining your scientific background, research interests, and publication record.
  • Two references will be requested at a later stage as part of the interview process.
